Licence WCommute Functionality

Created on

Introduction

The commuter functionality of S3GRAF, will allow you to assign a licence to your laptop or workstation to be used when your system is not connected to the network. For example, this can then be used while you are at home or on a plane.

The following workflow can be used by the end user to check out a licence from the Sentinel server to a system, then check it back into the Sentinel server when it is no longer required. Note this will effectively reduce the available licence pool from the Sentinel Server by 1.

This workflow requires the WCommute application from the S3GRAF installation file path.

WCommute Workflow:

  1. Launch the WCommute application on the workstation. This can be found in the following location :-

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Sciencesoft Ltd\S3GRAF v2024.1

But may vary depending on your installation path for S3GRAF

  2. Click on ‘Single Server’ and enter the name of your Sentinel Server
  3. Highlight the first licence feature required.
  4. Change the ‘Enter number of days until the commuter authorization expires’ to the required number of days. This should be less than the available days left on this licence component:

  5. Click on the ‘Check Out’ button
  6. The highlighted feature will now change to have a Red tick on it.
  7. Repeat for the other features:

  8. When S3GRAF is launched, the Help- Registration view will look similar to:-

NOTE:

These licences can be checked in using the WCommute application again, by simply highlighting the specific component and clicking on ‘Check In’.

The licences will automatically be checked back in on the expiry date if they are not manually checked in before hand.

This reduces the available network licences by one. For example:

Please let me know if this needs clarification.
