Product Installation Guide

Created on

Introduction

The installation of each product follows a similar procedure, provided the correct administrative access is used.

The installation files will be provided from one of the following locations:

  • On site visit by a member of the Customer Support or Sales team.
  • Download from our FTP site or through a Dropbox link
  • A CD provided on request.

Once received, the setup executables should be extracted from the compressed files to the local hard drive before being run. These are self contained and install to the specified locations on the operating system.

Installation Steps

The installation of each application follows the steps below:

  1. Download the software setup file to a local hard drive location.
  2. Log onto the PC with an account that has administrative access.
  3. If a clean install is to be performed as part of an upgrade, uninstall all previous versions of the software. Else the installation process will upgrade the version installed.
  4. If zipped, unzip the setup zip file to a temporary directory.
  5. Right click on the setup.exe and select the ‘Run as Administrator’ option to start the installation. Alternatively double click on the Setup.exe to start the installation.
  6. Once launched, the installer has a number of configuration suggestion dialogs. Verify each is correct and follow the prompts to complete the installation.

Once installed, the applications can then be run and the licence configuration completed as per the Network or Standalone steps.

Notes:

Since S3control is a 64 bit application it can only be installed on a system running a 64 bit operating system.

Once installed, S3connect requires further configuration to access GAP and the Reservoir Simulator. Details on this will be provided with the installation of S3connect.

Further installation details are provided with the download of the installation executable.
