Introduction
All versions of our software have been designed to utilize the version of their release and any newer network licence versions. This allows installations of older versions of our products to utilise the most recent network licences. For example S3GRAF v2020.x to utilise S3GRAF 2020 or 2022 network licences, or S3control 2019 to utilise the S3control 2020 network licences.
This ensures those eligible for upgrade can be provided with the latest product licences at licence renewal time, allowing upgrades of the product installations to be completed at a convenient time.
Demonstration
In the following example, the Sentinel Server is hosting a number of S3GRAF network licences valid to the dates specified:
- S3GRAF and component v2022 network licences valid until the 31st of December 2019:
Obviously when S3GRAF 2022 is launched, it will access the version 2022 network licences hosted on this Sentinel server. For example:
However when S3GRAF v2020.x is launched, this will also also access the S3GRAF 2022 network licences. For example:
Note the licence file does not unlock any new features. For example S3GRAF v2020 cannot access the new features available in S3GRAF 2022. In this case the installation files must be upgraded.
Summary
In summary, our products are designed to work with the current version and future versions of the product network licences, provided there are no current product version licences available on the Sentinel Server.
